Study Resources - Submitting AssignmentsThe process for submitting assignments will vary according to the requirements of each particular subject. Contact your student support team if in doubt about the correct process. AssignmentsAssignments are processed by the OCLC Student Support Unit (SSU) at the Gippsland campus. An assignment tracking system records the movement of both Open Universities Australia and Monash off-campus students' assignments. Assignments can be submitted by mail, fax, or personal delivery to the SSU office. Assignments are then recorded onto the system and forwarded to teaching staff for marking. Following marking, assignments are returned to the SSU office where they are recorded and returned to students. The assignment tracking system records only the in and out process, it does not record assignment marks. The assignment tracking system provides an official record of the receipt and return of assignments. Note that assignments for some subjects can be submitted online via MUSO. Students will be advised by their unit coordinator if this is the case. For a small number of subjects, it is compulsory for students to submit their assignments via MUSO; for example, MAN11, MAN22 and MAN230. AssignmentFor most Monash off-campus and Open Universities Australia subjects, the initial despatch of learning material for each subject will include individually barcoded assignment cover sheets for each assignment task. Please attach the matching cover sheet to your assignment before you submit it. If you have not received a barcoded assignment cover sheet, please attach a sheet with details including your student ID number, year of study, subject code, the semester/term and the assignment number. Due datesThe due date is the date on which the assignment is to be received at the Student Support Unit (SSU), unless explicitly stated otherwise in the unit guide. You should check the assignment due dates when you receive your materials. If you have any concerns about the due date, contact your unit coordinator. Mailing your assignmentIf you are mailing an assignment and would like to receive confirmation that it has been received by the Student Support Unit, please include a stamped, self-addressed envelope. If you plan to courier your assignment, you will need to use the following address:.
Faxing assignmentsFaxing assignments is a generally accepted alternative to mailing them. Please refer to your study materials, as they will indicate if this option is available to you. If you choose to fax an assignment, please retain your fax transmission report as a record of your assignment submission. Please fax your assignment to the fax number indicated on your assignment cover sheet. Due to the high number of assignments received, we are unable to confirm receipt of your fax. However, we will contact you if there are any problems with your transmission. Please include your daytime phone contact number and the number of pages you are faxing, so that we can confirm that all of your pages arrived, and can call you if there is a problem. If you fax an assignment, it is not necessary to forward a copy (unless you are requested to do so). You should always keep a copy of your submitted assignment!
